The Greatest Tragedy

There is nothing more terrifying than the thought of one day standing before the throne of a holy God and not having been washed by the blood of the Lamb! Oh, the thought of dying in your sins is the most miserable prospect there is for all eternity! The greatest tragedy to ever befall any man will not happen on this earth but on the day of our death, at the moment of crossing from this life to the next. Where will you spend eternity? This is a poignant question, avoided by so many, yet it is the most profound and important question one needs to have an answer to before it is too late! Everything we have ever accomplished on this earth—all the pursuits and relationships, the totality of our possessions and riches, money, fame, and reputation—will vanish into nothingness when we are face to face with death. When we breathe our last, the final thought will be, "Where am I going from here?" The Bible speaks of death as the last day appointed to us in this world, and after this, the judgment. A day of reckoning is coming upon all of us. When we stand face to face with our Creator, giving an account of the life we have lived, will there be anything of substance left within the fabric of your soul? What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul? What shall a man give in exchange for his soul? The death of Jesus Christ on the cross speaks to you and me of a love so deep that not one man can ever fully understand it. His blood shed on that cross was meant for forgiveness, healing, and acceptance into God’s presence again. After all the mess of sin and the sickening life we had, the blood of the Lamb is enough to cleanse us and give us a fresh start in life. He invited us to come to Him and believe. Will you choose life?
