Out of the ashes

We may never know the beauty and strength that can come out of the ashes of tragedy and pain. Nature shows us time and time again how beauty can emerge out of complete ruins. We see this in the aftermath of super typhoons. The air feels cleaner and peace comes after the devastation it brought. Life is not immune to setbacks and suffering. The life we live becomes our own story. A good story will always have its plot. It is the character's struggles in a story that make it interesting. The highs and lows of life are necessary colors in the whole picture we are painting in the canvas of our lives. It is like a tapestry. The picture on it may look perfect and beautiful, but when you look behind it you will see all the messy weavings that make up the picture. Oftentimes, when going through difficulties, we only see the messy weavings of pain and sorrow or trials. We become disheartened because we think our life is in a mess! But God sees the other side of the picture and the difficulties we are going through are necessary weavings in His skillful hands! You maybe going through hardships right now. There might be pain and unbearable sorrow which seems to drown you at times. You might be tempted to dwell in your pain and to look at the negative, darker side of what you are going through. Remember to look at the brighter side! The one that God sees. When the troubles and trials have passed, you'll understand why. You'll see the beauty that comes out of the ashes of your pain and hardships. It is up to you which one you want to see. Which one will you choose?
