The new year has arrived! What I cherish most about this time is the freshness it brings. It feels like returning to the starting line, offering a renewed opportunity to begin again—to finish what was left incomplete and to embrace a clean slate. Each new year carries the promise of a fresh day, a new opportunity, and a chance to improve upon the past. It invites us to start anew. How many people kick off the new year with clear goals in mind? Those who prioritize their health often embark on a journey toward wellness, adopting new diets, exercise routines, or weight loss plans as part of their resolutions. For some, it’s a chance to revisit unfinished efforts, to complete what was once left undone. For others, it’s simply the gift of another year of life. How will you make the most of this one chance? This year grants us 365 days, 8,760 hours, and 525,600 minutes. The countdown begins on New Year’s Eve, and the calendar turns on the first day of January. With the arrival of the new year, each of us is given another opportunity. The Bible reminds us that God is the God of new beginnings. In fact, He offers fresh chances not only at the start of the year but every morning: “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning...” What a comforting promise—that God’s love and mercy are renewed daily, never depleted. He will never run out of opportunities for us. As long as we live, there is always a chance to start over. What is the one thing you want to begin again this year?
