Let life happen

Spending time with nature teaches us the art of giving in and letting go. When we observe how every living thing on earth functions and how they live out their existence, we begin to understand that life need not be one of struggle and resistance. The trees welcome each season with open arms, embracing even the fall season when every leaf is taken away from them! The caterpillar does not fight the process of transformation because it knows that this is the only way to become free to fly and become a beautiful butterfly. It must be a life of confident faith and assurance in its Creator. Knowing that our God holds everything in His hands, and that each one of us lives and moves and has our being in Him, allows us to live lightly, letting life happen as it comes in moments rather than years. Life comes in little precious moments, not in years, months, or days. We must, therefore, learn to cherish and be grateful for each moment that comes to us. Letting life happen means allowing your childlike faith to trust. It means stopping the fight or resistance, letting go, and resting. It’s like watching Jesus as He sleeps in the middle of the storm! It was His confident assurance that all will be well, even when all around you are the raging blows of wind and your trials seem never-ending. Rest. Let life happen. Resist the tendency to fight it when, after trying, things are not changing for you. Maybe it’s not meant to be. Maybe there is something better waiting for you at the end of a difficult road. Do you find it hard to let life happen?
