Taking life one day at a time requires discipline. We are wired to worry about so many things. It is our default mechanism. Taking things easy does not come naturally for most of us. How do we take life one day at a time when we are surrounded by life’s pressures and demands? It is down to choice and how you manage your time. As of this moment, I am a business owner, managing a nursing agency, doing overseas missionary work every few months in Asia, and am halfway through a Naturopathic Nutrition Course! I could be overwhelmed by so many demands on my time and attention. But I have learned the secret of living life one day at a time. When looking at my daily “to do” lists, I make sure to prioritize what is important, urgent but not important, urgent and important, and important but not urgent. With this, I have learned to divide my time and put first things first each day so that I don’t do the stuff which can wait until the following day. Only the task for the day gets ticked off my “to do” lists, and the ones that can wait get done the following day. Jesus said we should not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Life should be easier if we know how to flow with its demands. Learning to live one day at a time is key to attaining balance in this life. What about you? Do you find it hard to live life one day at a time?
