Trying to mend something that’s broken is a remarkable way of expressing how much one values the broken object. The one who loves the broken still sees its beauty in spite of its brokenness. In fact, in nature, we see countless beauties emerging from devastating storms and disasters. After all the trials of life, the testing and the fire, God, who allows suffering to come into our lives, expects us to come forth as gold. The refining of gold and silver is painful and rough, but after the process, these precious elements emerge pure and shining. Our brokenness gives us that rare beauty formed from the difficulties we have been through. God said that to him who is broken and contrite, He will look. He said He will not despise a broken heart. God feels our brokenness. Jesus was heartbroken on the cross. He was betrayed by His own friends and abandoned by His followers. Because of the weight of our sins upon His shoulders, God the Father could not even look at Him. He felt forsaken and alone. He can identify with our sufferings and pain. When we are broken, God sees the beauty in our brokenness. Do not give up hope. Do not let others end your story. Your story is still being written by the God who never makes mistakes. Do you find it hard to see the beauty in your brokenness?
