Healing takes time. Allow your heart to heal at its own pace.
Healing takes time. Allow your heart to heal at its own pace.

Losing someone you love can leave you with wounds that will take time to heal. When a trusted friend betrays you or someone you respect and adore hurts you, it can be a difficult wound to mend. Healing can take time; it is a process none of us can master. Yet, this brokenness can make us better people. We can be whole again.

It can be a comforting word from a friend or just the mere presence of someone you love. These simple gestures can help us heal when we are broken inside. Mending our wounds is a delicate process of learning to trust again and be vulnerable. The courage to mend our wounds together, even when it hurts, is what helps us face the fear of being hurt again. There is no hurry to heal; it does take time, and the process cannot be rushed. Sometimes, when the wound is very deep, it takes great courage to forgive the offender truthfully before one can fully mend the wounds. Learning to trust again is key to becoming whole again. It will take time; it may take longer for some and happen faster for others. But healing does come, and our wounds will close again. Remember, God is close to the broken-hearted. Are you in the process of mending your wounds right now?
