Live lightly

A picture of Jesus sleeping through the storm gives me such a comforting feeling. It’s like an assurance that all will be well despite the chaos. I have always imagined Jesus as relaxed and collected. He was never in a hurry. He always moved with a sense of purpose every single day. Nothing is too much or too little for Him. Everything seems to be just right: right timing, right words, right tears, right person, right place. He moves gracefully and answers His critics with love and understanding.

A life of faith always lives lightly, knowing that God holds everything together no matter what happens. Every confident decision is made because it knows whom it believes in; the heart is assured of the God who makes all things possible. To rest in the middle of the storms of life is the ultimate sign of faith. Faith is a rest. It rests in the One it trusts. One can live lightly when there’s faith. You can live relaxed and unhurried, knowing who your God is. He holds your life from beginning to end. Are you finding it hard to live lightly?
