When does less become more? A woman with very simple makeup reveals more of her natural beauty than when she uses elaborate foundation and colors on her face. Similarly, your life can reveal more of its beauty and character when it is not surrounded by too much stuff. These things can crowd life’s true meaning. If we simplify our lives, we could discover more of what life is all about—more of what makes us happy and less of the added material possessions and busyness that can be unnecessary for our existence. Life is really simple and easy; we just complicate it! Less is more when we consider what is truly important. When your life is stripped of the many possessions you own, you are able to realize what is truly significant. When you ask yourself what is the one thing you’d save in the event of a fire, you’ll know that only life itself holds significance for you. We can narrow it down to the things we love to do and that make us happy. We can spend more time with our loved ones and enjoy their company. We can make our lives mean something other than just existing. To make life count, it must be lived for something bigger than itself. It must touch lives and cause change. If we live with less, we can live more. Have you discovered the power of less?

I studied minimalism and kept on putting it to practice. This year had been financially challenging for us but the Lord's grace and provision is enough, minus unnecessary stuff that I thought can give joy and fill my heart, help me escape my reality and divert my messy mind. Thank you for this reminder. The Lord is good!
