It just wasn't meant to be

Whatever is meant for you will come to you, and whatever is not meant for you will never be. Your acceptance of things and events in life that are beyond your control will be the defining difference between living your life lightly and in peace or living it with bitterness and heaviness. Jesus invited us to come unto Him if we are weary and heavy laden, and He will give us rest. He said that His yoke is easy, and His burden is light. I looked closely at the life of Jesus and noticed the one thing that stood out in His life here on earth. It was His willingness to do the will of His Father in Heaven. He was always about His Father’s business, obeying His will, doing His work. And when it comes to the final days of His life, facing the cross at the garden of Gethsemane, He resigned to His own will and prayed the most beautiful prayer we can ever hear: “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” Such humble submission and acceptance of the purpose of His coming. It is hard to fight the things we cannot change. One thing I learned in all my years of traveling and meeting people from all walks of life is that not everything we dreamed of or planned for our lives is meant for us. In the end, to accept this is the best way to move on with your life. Sometimes we keep insisting on hitting the target in front of us, and it frustrates us when we miss. But in God’s eyes, those arrows that missed your target have hit another at the exact perfect timing they were meant to hit. That is the time you will realize that God’s plan and His will are always best. Are you trying to hold on to something that is really not meant for your life?
